TDP set to regain past glory: Babu
Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has exuded confidence that the TDP will emerge victorious in the next Assembly elections in 2014. "Some forces in Telangana are trying to weaken the TDP. But they cannot succeed in their attempts. People will certainly reject the corrupt YSR Congress and the inefficient Congress. The TDP will win the trust of people," Naidu said, at a review meeting of the party here on Thursday.Blaming the Centre for the current political uncertainty in the state, Naidu demanded that the Congressled UPA government find a way out to end the impasse. "We have given a free hand to TDP leaders of all the regions to carry forward movements as per the sentiments of people," Naidu said. The TDP chief was happy over good response from people to his roadshows in Anantapur district on Wednesday. Congress leader JC Prabhakar Reddy's soninlaw G Deepak Reddy joined the TDP in the presence of Naidu. At a time when TDP leaders are quitting the party to join YSRC or TRS, Anantapur district has given the much needed fillip to the Telugu Desam. To neutralise the YSRC and Congress, the TDP chief interacted with pastors and students. He promised all help to BCs and supported their demand for 33 per cent reservation in legislative bodies. He also wooed farmers highlighting the antiryot policies of the Congress government."The TDP is strong in Anantapur. I have no doubt that it will win all the 14 Assembly and two Lok Sabha seats in the next elections. The future belongs to the TDP," Naidu said, exhorting the party leaders to work unitedly for the victory of the party. In the evening, Naidu participated in an interactive session with engineering students. When a student asked for a solution to the ongoing Sakala Janula Samme in Telangana region, Naidu simply said: "It is the Centre to take a final decision on the issue."
