All-party meeting on Telangana this week?

As expected, the core committee of the Congress party which met under the leadership of party president Sonia Gandhi at the residence of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Tuesday did not come to any immediate conclusion on the Telangana issue.

According to reports from New Delhi, the core committee which sat for more than one and a half hours decided to complete the consultation process at the earliest and announce a decision.

As part of that, the Centre might call for an all-party meeting at the national level some time this week and elicit their views. It is not certain which political parties would be invited and how many of them would turn up.

“In all probability, a solution might be evolved before Diwali,” says an AICC source.

But the situation in the state will turn from bad to worse by then, as the people are getting frustrated with every passing day.
