Amar Singh’s bail plea hearing today
New Delhi: A Delhi court will, Monday, decide on the bail plea of cash-for-votes scam accused Amar Singh, who was granted interim bail on September 15 on medical grounds.
CBI special court Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal had granted bail to Singh while asking him to apply for regular bail. As per the bail conditions, Singh cannot travel abroad and has been asked to surrender his passport, and furnish a personal bond and surety of Rs 2 lakh.
Granting interim bail to 55-year-old Singh, the court asked the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), where he is undergoing treatment, to submit a detailed report on his day-to-day health status on September 19.
Singh was shifted to AIIMS from Tihar Jail on the evening of September 12 after the team of doctors, who were examining him, recommended that he was required to be shifted to the premier medical institute.
He was arrested on September 6 after he appeared in court in response to its summons for his alleged role in the scam.
