KCR to fast-unto-death if Centre delays T decision
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi president, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, on Tuesday, threatened to undertake deeksha (fast-unto-death) again if the Centre fails to take a decision on Telangana soon. “I decided to undertake deeksha again as I am sick of government’s inaction on Telangana. But I have been advised not go ahead with deeksha now. If the government fails to take a decision, I will consult all JACs and decide on deeksha,” he said. Mr Rao’s family and Congress MP, Dr K. Keshava Rao, had pleaded with Mr Rao not to undertake the fast at this juncture.
Mr Rao also attacked the Centre for its failure to respond to the Sakala Janula Samme which entered its eighth day on Tuesday and pleaded to the people, including farmers, to spare the electricity employees for power cuts, but to vent their ire on Congress MPs, MLAs and ministers who had ditched them by staying away from the strike. He went on to allege that the Chief Minister had hatched a conspiracy to set employees of power utilities and farmers at loggerheads and appealed to the electricity employees to spare farmers and domestic consumers from power cuts during their ongoing agitation. He then went on to exhort farmers and others to bash up Congress MPs, MLAs and ministers who have ditched them on the Telangana issue, and not electricity employees.
Talking about the system of employing people on contract, Mr Rao said sarcastically, “This contract employees system was launched by Chand-rababu Naidu. There are contract drivers, employees, telephone operators and the like. Why don't we have a contract CM? There are people who can do a better job.”
